What a Happy Girl!

Sleeping Beauty
Paula and Baby Ashlyn were visited this weekend by her 4 children. She had a wonderful time getting to hug and kiss her children.

Baby Ashlyn was released today. Paula was very scared to leave the hospital; in order to leave Paula had to learn how to care for Ashlyn. She learned how to clean her IV, a daily shot, Medication and knowing when she needs a blood transfusion. Needless to say she was very nervous to leave the safety of the hospital. She will have to go back to the hospital on Tuesday for tests.

Ashlyn has begun to feel the effects of chemo.

 A message from Paula:

I am grateful for everyone fighting for my Daughter! All the prayers they are so powerful and we have felt each one!

Thank You Everyone! We appreciate your continued support!

Prayers

Tonight Paula was informed that Baby Ashlyn has cancer in her Auilary Lymph Nodes and Liver. They will find out the details and percentiles tomorrow. As the cancer spreads through her little body Please keep her in your prayers. We need to be her support system to help her mommy stay strong. Keep sending your love, thoughts and prayers to bouy her up.

Paula's facebook Post

as I sit here and watch my baby girl go through this scan, I wanted to share with all of you how truly grateful I am for each one of you, to fight for my daughter out there, while I fight for her here.

right now we are getting what's called an mibg scan, yesterday they injected her with a dye that only grabs on the the cancer cells so our hope is that the only place that lights up is the tumor! Fingers crossed!

Online Auction

We have several donations so far! We are so excited to be able to do this for the McKay family. Please Keep the doantions coming even if we don't get them in time for the online auction we will use them in our local auction... We are soo excited and grateful for your generosity to this family in their time of need.

Chemo

Baby Ashlyn had her first round of chemo last night. She seems to be doing well this morning. Paula is holding on trying to be strong for her baby, a couple of nights ago I noticed Paula up at 1:30 am, I received a text, she said that Ashlyn wouldn't let her put her down and every time she tried Ashlyn just cried. Not only is she drained emotionally but also physically. Please Keep her and her family in your parayers so the arms of our Heavenly Father can wrap around her and give her the strength she so desperately needs. We appreciate your support.

Ashlyn Adell

Baby Ashlyn Adell was born on Oct 26 to Paula and Bardell McKay. She was 6 lbs 6 oz 19 inches. From the beginning Paula noticed things weren't quite right with her legs and bowels. Paula took her to local Dr's who assured her things were fine and then to a friend who's a chiropractor, Dr Willes. Dr Willes advised her to get to a specialist as soon as possible.

Paula took Ashlyn into a Dr in Salt Lake where her life changed forever. At 2 weeks old. Paula was informed she had a tumor in her belly wrapping around to her spine which was causing her legs not to move. She would have to go in for surgery to have it biopsied, removed, and tests. After 4 hours she was out of surgery. By morning she was already beginning to move her leg.

She has an intermediate level of cancer that is still growing and has grown in the week she has been at Primary Children's. They are still doing tests to decide how far the cancer has spread with in her body.

Ashlyn has been resting and regaining strength so they can begin Chemo soon. She had a bone scan today that looks good but more results should be back in the next day or so.
